About Professor Blue
Professor Blue - The History
Professor Blue is the alter ego of Mark Goodman. He is a UK-based lyricist, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, producer and video maker. All of these skills are being drawn on for use in this project.
Mark’s musical experience began as bass player and drummer in a variety of rock and indie bands. Mark then widened his experiences into songwriting and wider instrumentation. He spread his wings into theatre, skate punk, and then experimental rock before returning to drive forward this, his first solo project.
The nickname Professor Blue was given to Mark in one of his early bands. He has now returned to the pseudonym as a reflection of the influences gone before. It is also a tribute for the help, support and assistance over the years.
Mark provides all of the music and sound production for this project. The songs are played on live (“real”) instruments at his home studio as this is his most comfortable place to work from, musically and geographically. The result is a specific personal energy, mood and distinct sound. There is no autotune, no AI, all warts and all human!
Vision
Runs With Dogs provides and array of experience to add to the project. Originally approached informally for permission to use some of their existing catalogue of photographs, as time has passed so they began to provide bespoke contributions. They have also have been massively helpful in supporting the videos being produced by Mark. Freeze Unfreeze, for example, is based on the photo which can be seen featured on the cover of the single and the second and end clips of the video.
The future work on the project is underway with Runs With Dogs becoming more active in the video production.
