Professor Blue is the alter ego of Mark Goodman; UK-based lyricist, songwriter and multi instrumentalist.
Mark’s history began as bass player and drummer in a variety of rock and indie bands, then spread into songwriting and wider instrumentation, theatre, skate punk, and experimental rock.
The nickname Professor Blue was given to Mark in one of his earliest bands and he now returns to the name as reflection of the influences gone before as well as a tribute for the help, support and assistance over the years.
Mark provides all of the music and sound production for this project. The songs are played on live (“real”) instruments as this is his most comfortable place to work from; and also provides a very human energy and distinct sound.
Vision
Runs With Dogs provides and array of experience to add to the project. Originally approached informally for permission to use some of their existing catalogue of photographs, as time has passed so bespoke contributions have been forthcoming as well as the basis for the videos being produced by Mark. Freeze Unfreeze, for example, is based on the photo which can be seen featured on the cover of the single and the second and end clips of the video.
The future work on the project is underway with Runs With Dogs becoming more active in the video production.
